Walk test
See them move
Photos hide a lot. These are unedited walk tests we film before packing, so you can judge the proportions, the head balance and how the body reads from a distance.
Why buyers keep coming back
Most of our orders are repeat business or referrals from marketing agencies, sports clubs and theme parks.
We work from whatever you have
A brand style guide, a child's drawing, a 3D render or a photo of an old costume. Our sculptors rebuild the character in foam and send you photos before the fur goes on.
Built around the performer
Tell us your performer's height, chest and shoe size. We adjust the internal harness, leg length and head cage so the costume is balanced rather than front-heavy.
Cooling that actually works
Two or three 12 V fans with rechargeable battery packs, mesh vision panels and moisture-wicking lining. Standard on every head, not an upsell.
Made for daily wear
Double-stitched stress seams, replaceable zippers and dense EVA foam that keeps its shape after hundreds of shows, not just the photo shoot.
Free revisions before production
You approve a digital proof, then in-progress photos. Changes at those two stages cost nothing — we would rather redo a sketch than a finished head.
Export paperwork handled
CE and EN71-compliant materials on request, flame-retardant options, commercial invoice, packing list and HS codes prepared for your customs broker.
Custom Process
From artwork to arrival
Six steps, roughly four weeks for most single-character orders.
- Within 12 working hours
Brief and quotation
You send artwork and answer five questions about use. We come back with a price, a construction recommendation, a lead time and anything in the design that will not work in fabric — we would rather raise it now than surprise you at the proof stage.
- 2-3 days
Digital proof
Our designer produces a front, side and rear view of the costume as it will actually be built, with the fabric and colour selections marked. This is approval gate one. Revisions here are free and unlimited within reason.
- 3-5 days
Foam sculpting
The head is carved from dense EVA and PU foam by hand. We photograph it from five angles and send those photos to you. This is approval gate two, and it is the last point at which proportions can change without extra cost.
- 5-10 days
Patterning and sewing
Patterns are cut for the body, fur is laid with the nap running consistently across seams, and the suit is sewn with double-stitched stress seams. Eyes are 3D-formed, faces airbrushed, garments made as separate pieces.
- 2-3 days
Assembly and quality control
Fans and wiring are fitted, the harness is adjusted, and a member of our team wears the costume for a walk test — the same test we film for you. We check vision, balance, seam strength, zip travel and fan noise against a written checklist.
- 1-2 days plus transit
Packing and shipping
The costume is vacuum-packed where the construction allows, boxed with silica gel, and photographed as packed. We send tracking, the commercial invoice, packing list and HS codes the same day it leaves.
Materials & Quality
What is inside the costume
The parts nobody photographs are the parts that decide whether a mascot lasts one season or ten.
Outer fabrics
We stock long-pile, short-pile, curly and velboa plush, plus minky, ripstop and spandex for stretch panels. Pile length is chosen for viewing distance: long pile reads soft from ten metres but muddy up close, short pile holds detail for meet-and-greets. All plush is colour-matched to Pantone or to a physical swatch, and we record the dye lot so a reorder matches.
- Long-pile plush (25-40 mm) for bears, lambs and soft animal characters
- Short-pile and velboa (3-9 mm) for faces, detailed characters and close contact
- Ripstop nylon and coated polyester for inflatable body shells
Foam and structure
Heads are built from layered EVA and high-density polyurethane foam, hand-carved rather than moulded, which is why a one-off costs the same per unit as the tenth. Density is chosen by function: dense foam at the crown where the harness loads it, softer foam where the shape needs to be forgiving against a child's face.
- Layered EVA and PU foam, hand-carved to the approved sculpt
- Internal cage or harness that transfers head weight to the shoulders and hips
- Reinforced crown where the harness attaches — the first failure point on cheap builds
Cooling and comfort
Overheating is the single most common reason a mascot programme stops. Every head we build ships with at least two 12 V fans and a rechargeable pack; large builds get three. Vision panels are mesh with an anti-fog treatment, and the lining is a moisture-wicking mesh that can be removed and washed.
- Two or three 12 V fans, positioned to move air across the face and out at the crown
- Rechargeable battery pack, 6-10 hours per charge, spare pack supplied
- Anti-fog mesh vision panels sized to the performer's eye height

FAQ
Questions buyers ask first
The questions we answer several times a week. If yours is not here, send it — we answer every message from our own sales desk.
What is your minimum order quantity?
One piece. We build single custom characters routinely — it is most of our order book. Per-unit pricing improves noticeably from six pieces and again from twenty, but there is no minimum that stops you ordering one.
How much does a custom mascot costume cost?
Most single custom characters fall between USD 400 and USD 1,200 ex-works, depending on size, construction, fur quality, the number of separate garments and whether the design needs unusual structure. Inflatable builds and large character sets sit above that. We quote a firm price from artwork rather than a range, usually within 12 working hours.
How long does production take?
22 to 30 days from artwork approval for a standard single character, 14 to 18 days for a rush order subject to capacity, and 30 to 40 days for a set of three to six. Repeat orders from archived patterns run 12 to 18 days. Shipping is on top: 3-7 days by express courier, 25-45 days by sea.
Can you work from a rough sketch instead of finished artwork?
Yes. A hand drawing, a photo of an old costume or even a clear written description is enough for us to quote and to produce a digital proof. Our designers redraw the character properly as part of the process; you approve that drawing before anything is built.
Will you send me photos before it ships?
Yes, twice as standard. You approve a digital proof before we cut anything, and photographs of the sculpted foam head from five angles before the fur goes on. Before packing we film a walk test with a member of our team wearing the costume, and send you that video.
How do I size the costume for my performer?
Send us the performer's height, chest measurement and shoe size. If the costume will be shared — a school or a rental fleet — tell us the height range instead and we will build an adjustable harness and leg length, typically covering 155 cm to 185 cm.
Send us your character
Artwork, a rough sketch or just a description. You get a price, a lead time and a materials plan back — usually within 12 working hours.
- Your details go to our sales desk only. We never sell or share enquiry data.
- One reply from a person, no automated drip campaigns.
- Ask for an NDA before sending artwork and we will send one back the same day.
